About MCE

Bringing Great Music Alive!
What makes Master Chorus Eastside's concerts so gripping, so transforming, and yet so much fun? Why do you, our audience members, often come to me with faces alight with laughter or with tear-filled eyes, and relate how much our music has touched you? Perhaps it's because we care deeply about what we do. Because of that we select the absolute best, strive to perfect it, and in the process we feel the joy and thrill of great music-making, and then pass it on to you. We create a concert experience that transcends the ordinary, and yet feels as comfortable, as warm and inviting as an evening with good friends. So join us in our eighteenth fabulous season, and experience the power of choral music!

Our Mission

Master Chorus Eastside exists to share the power of choral music to unite, inspire and bring joy. What we do:

  • Create and present high quality public performances
  • Recognize, nurture, and develop musical talent
  • Collaborate with fellow arts organizations and individuals

Our Vision

  • Be recognized as a premier chorus and a regional cultural treasure
  • Actively seek out Eastside audiences
  • Continually develop community outreach initiatives

Our History

Master Chorus Eastside (formerly the Issaquah Chorale) began in 1991 as a small, non-auditioned ensemble, and has since grown into a polished, fully auditioned chorus and one of the premiere arts organizations on the Eastside. It is known for its innovative and imaginative programming, from its family-style "All-American Independence Celebration," featuring American music and historical tidbits, to large choral/orchestral works, a capella repertoire, multi-cultural explorations, and jazz and Broadway classics. Its four-concert season is enlivened by conductor Dr. Linda Gingrich's informative concert commentary. MCE performs on the Eastside, on the Christmas ship, and across the greater-Seattle region. It has appeared on the Columbia River as part of the 200th anniversary of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, at the Jamestown celebration in 200, and at the 2008 Leavenworth Choral Festival. MCE has also performed with several area orchestras and dance troupes, at local service organization and private functions, and as part of KING FM broadcasts.
